Romantic Writer reborn

Welcome back to Romantic Writer. The site was languishing on the inactive blogs list, and it kept winking at me. I am a freelance journalist and aspiring writer, and lately I've aspired to . . . .write romance.

I've decided that it really isn't low brow at all to write something that people like to read, and supposedly the Romance Readers are some of the most voracious in the business. In uncertain economic times, I like to believe in some basic products that will always hold their value. I usually say liquor, cigarettes, and dancing girls, but I think that I am now going to expand that to include Romance Novels.

I also have a moderate interest in erotic fiction, although we will try to keep the content of this blog apt for all public. However we will admittedly be reading (and hopefully writing) some bodice-rippers, adult romance, erotica, etc. Many of the target markets and resources will deal with erotica (see the aforementioned statement about markets that hold their value).

I am very excited to be joining the wildly popular Writing community on Orble. This blog is open to all writers, please feel free to apply and post.

I had to take down the pink theme, sorry KL. I will be updating soon with new graphics and our very first (serious) post.

Hey there,

There was a great 3-part documentary on BBC4 recently about romance novels. One writer said that there are romances out there which would be called literature if they had male protagonists and were written by a male author. But as it's literature for women (mostly) written by women, it's not taken as serious as it should.

More importantly, writing romance is even better than reading it
